Notice

In accordance to Kentucky Statutes KRS 424.13, I, Gary Freeman, Sheriff of Estill County and Tax Collector will sell the following 2007 Delinquent property tax bills at the Estill County Courthouse on June 2, 2008 at 1:00 pm.

Offers to purchase these bills can be submitted in writing beginning May 21, 2008, and must be received in this office by May 30, 2008. Offers shall be received on a first come first serve basis with preference given for previous purchaser of said tax bill.

Offers should be submitted to the Estill County Sheriff's Office, Estill County Courthouse, 130 Main Street, Irvine, KY 40336. A list of delinquent tax bills is also available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Estill County Sheriff's Office. This listing of delinquent tax bills shall be posted on the internet for a minimum of thirty days and shall be updated weekly.

The private purchaser of a delinquent tax bill will be issued a Certificate of Delinquency, which represents a lien upon the real estate described on the face of the tax bill. Interest at a rate of 12% per annum, accrues upon this certificate from the date of issuance.
